Alfabus Mobility ("Alfabus", "Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Alfabus mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, share, and protect your information when you use our Platform to search, book, or inquire about bus tickets and related services.
By accessing the Platform or availing our services, you expressly consent to the collection, storage, processing, and sharing of your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Platform.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information to provide, improve, and securely operate our services. The types of information we collect include:
- Account & Identity Data: When you register, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, age, gender, and login credentials.
- Traveler Information: If you book tickets for co-passengers, we collect their names, ages, and genders. By providing this information, you confirm that you have obtained the explicit consent of such co-passengers to share their Personal Data with us.
- Transaction & Financial Data: We collect billing details and transaction history. Payment processing is handled by secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways. Alfabus does not store your complete credit/debit card numbers or UPI PINs.
- Device & Technical Data: We automatically collect your IP address, device ID, operating system details, app version, and network information to ensure app security and optimize performance.
- Location Data: With your explicit permission, we access your device’s GPS/location data to show you nearby boarding/dropping points and track live bus locations.
- Communication Data: Records of your interactions with our customer support, including emails, chat logs, and call recordings for quality and training purposes.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Alfabus utilizes your Personal Data strictly for lawful purposes, primarily to fulfill our contractual obligations to you and enhance your experience. We use your data to:
- Process and confirm your bus ticket bookings.
- Communicate transactional updates, including PNR status, boarding point changes, and cancellations via SMS, WhatsApp, Email, or Push Notifications.
- Facilitate payments, process refunds, and resolve billing disputes.
- Provide customer support and handle grievances.
- Prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, unauthorized access, or illegal activities.
- Conduct market research, analytics, and internal audits to improve our Platform.
- Send promotional offers and personalized marketing communications (you may opt-out of marketing communications at any time).
4. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
As an aggregator, Alfabus must share certain information with third parties to successfully render services. We share your data with:
- Bus Operators (End Service Providers): To confirm your seat, we must share your name, age, gender, and contact number with the respective bus operator and their conductors. Important: Once shared, the bus operators process your Personal Data as independent data fiduciaries/controllers to fulfill the journey. Alfabus does not control, and is not liable for, how these independent operators subsequently handle your data.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We engage trusted vendors for payment processing, cloud hosting, SMS/WhatsApp delivery, and customer support infrastructure. These entities are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal & Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Alfabus, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your Personal Data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
5. DATA SECURITY & RETENTION
We implement industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards, including encryption and secure socket layer (SSL) technology, to protect your Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal or tax obligations under Indian law.
6. YOUR RIGHTS (DPDP ACT 2023 COMPLIANCE)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you possess the following rights regarding your Personal Data:
- Right to Access: You can request a summary of the Personal Data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction & Erasure: You can update inaccurate data or request the deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time. However, doing so may prevent us from providing certain services (e.g., ticket booking).
- Right to Nominate: You may nominate an individual to exercise your data rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
